Association of Certified Security Agencies
The Association of Certified Security Agencies, or ACSA in short, was established on 18 March 1997 as a society under the Societies Act, Singapore. Prior to the formation of ACSA, security agencies were loosely banded to enhance the training of security officers. The Licensing Division of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), who was the authority that dealt with matters related to the licensing of security agencies, was charged with the responsibility of the crafting of the training syllabus. Some like-minded security agencies got together and supported the idea mooted by CID. This led to the idea of forming an Association comprising of security agency owners. Over the years, ACSA has played pivotal roles in shaping the current landscape of the private security industry. Today, ACSA boasts of over 130 licensed security agencies and is the leading Security Association in Singapore.
